KARATE AS A PHYSICAL FITNESS EXERCISE
Physical fitness is not necessary in order to start Karate, this will come as one continues to practice. Karate can be practiced by all ages, and is great opportunity to exercise while having fun, Exercise can be boring if it consists of only exercises that serve no purpose other than keeping healthy, by practicing karate, you can work to improve your cardio capacity, at the same time learning a practical skill.

A trained karateka will with determined effort and with the correct appliction of balance, speed and skill, will oppose superior weight and strength. Self - Defence forms a part of Karate. There are hundreds of Karate techniques which are highly effective for self defence. In karate all parts of the body can be used effectively, the application of grappling, joint manipulations, locks, restraints/traps, throws and vital point striking makes it an effective way of enhancing your self protection programme.
